Crypto trading is risky if you're using the rent money. Don't do it. This is not financial advice. Just how it's done in general.
Generally a good quality coin can rise in value over time (Years). Some can crash to nothing (Mainly Meme Coins)
Google centralised, decentralised and Meme coins for clarification.
For those that are willing to lose what they put in and continue on their crypto journey, make sure to work out if the coin is near the last top, moving in its all time highs or If it's down at its range lows. Zoom right out on the daily/weekly/yearly time frame to visualise this on a chart.
The closer you zoom in on time frames, 4hr,1hr,15min, 5min, 1min. (Here is where you can lose money in the short term) You will see what's happening in the right now. Apply the same analysis.
Is the trend moving down or up. Get familiar with direction, chart indicators, trend lines and charts in general. Play around with charts on https://tradingview.com
You should get familiar with the top 100 coins, you will find a list on https://coinmarketcap.com
Don't worry about trading on futures exchanges right now, Just buy spot price, it will hurt less if you buy at the top and the market reverses, especially if you are trading with leverage on futures accounts. (That's a whole other topic)
You can buy crypto in Australia at https://www.coinspot.com.au?affiliate=X8DN4W (Copy and paste this link into your browser for $10 worth of bitcoin when you first deposit after you sign up)
Create an account on CoinSpot and verify yourself. Browse what you can buy there, referring to coinmarketcap.com for more information on a coin.
Focus on the top 10 to begin with and look at the charts, how have they moved over time, what are the highs and lows. Is the coin centralised or decentralised (Controlled by a company/individual/group or by the holders/Mining pool/no one)
Is the coin on its own blockchain? Is it built upon another blockchain? How many coins in circulation/how may to be produced, is the number infinite.
The less coins in total availability the better, some have only released a percentage of the total. The more interest in the the coin on social media/twitter/facebook/youtube/general sentiment can help grow its popularity.
Try stay away from meme coins (silly names) with no utility. They dump badly when they do, but if you get some early enough you can do well. Its luck really. Usually when they get listed on exchanges you are already too late for low risk. But obtaining them before they do is a whole other learning curve which I will save for another time.
Be patient, research the coins and make investments wisely but not at the tops of the charts. Over time, buying the bottoms should get you ahead. But catching where the bottom is, is a skill or luck.
World news can really affect the market, keep touch with that. You might catch a market dip or a pump depending on the news.
Ill attach some charts patterns for you to study below. Ask questions, give answers to others if you can.
